tru trac

I've heard that I need to put a tru trac on my bike because this year has problems wiping out at a high speed. Does any one know anything about this problem?

Don't get overly shook up.  It's not the single year model and it's not a specific model.  All the touring models until the frame change might get a wobble or rear steer.  Lots of things might cause it ranging from worn swingarm bushings to neck bearings to the way the wind comes over the fairing.

The TruTrac and Ride Str8 and a squadron of other competitive devices all sail along trying to convince they're best to solve the problem.  None of them hurt.  They might not always help.  But it's not a bad thing they're added.

I have installed the device on my '05 SEEG (aah what a wonderful bike that was). I believe there is some benefit, but most of it is the placebo effect. Too many factors influence the bike at speed, just as 2lane has already posted.

Ride safely,

I've got the bagger brace, just need to get out in the garage and install it! Using the it's to cold as an excuse! ;)
Not sure what they did to the new frames to fix this problem, if the still run that huge rubber bushing in the frame/swingarm then I don't know how they did anything to correct it, but people say the new models handle nice! :confused5:

I put the True Track on my 07 UC and it helped on the mountain roads but you had to really ride her hard into some turns like on the Dragon before you noticed any real change. Could have been simply due that I was becoming a better rider at the time. I kept it on after converting the UC to a trike. Not too sure it has helped with the handling but it does provide an extra brace to the frame that isn't hurting anything.

Second hand knowledge about the True Track picture with the guy falling. I had read a story where the guy was showing off to a photographer on the Dragon just before loosing it. Doubtful it was due to lack of stability of the bike. More for creating hysteria and moving product to me but I'm guilty of buying one.

My issues are more on wide sweeping turns, I get the rear steer and the bike wonders around, especially one up. On the hard turns I don't notice it as much, my theory is the the rad turn flex's the rubber bushing to the max and holes it there, but in softer turns the swing arm pivot moves around because not as much pressure is put on the rubber bushing so it squishes around allowing movement. I think all the braces do the same thing, I just like the mounting of the Bagger brace to the trans pan, spread out on both sides, less pressure on those back three bolts, just my uneducated opinion. Can't wait to try it out!

I had True Track on my FLHRCI 05 and it did help - put the dangerous speed aerea up some 20 m and gave an overall stiffer ride.

But it had some other bad effect: the exhaust manifold and the engine mounts lived only about half as long with True Track.
