Oil - where to purchase
« on: November 15, 2006, 04:58:23 PM »

I know there have been several threads about various brands of motor / transmission / primary oils.  Pretty much settled on Mobil 1 V-Twin for motor and Redline Heavy Shockproof for the tranny.  Where is the best place to buy these.  I'm having trouble finding any retail locations that stock them.  Do most of you get them via internet / mail order.  Thanks in advance for your recommendations. Jerry...the Mobil I VTWIN should be available at your local Advanced Auto...the one here stocks it, at least. In fact, they even stock the K&N oil filters in chrome.  You might have to ask them though, as it is sometimes not on the shelf.  Redline products are more difficult to find, and I have had no local success.

I purchase my Redline products from CDOC. They are local (within 20 miles) to me, but do offer mail order.

Jerry

Dave hit it on the head. I got mine last week at autozone on 302 hwy in Olive Branch. I had to ask them to check in back and they had it. I think they only keep 1 qt out front so usually won't find it and think they don't sell it. I bought enough for 3 oil changes so let me know if you need some right now. See ya Buddy, God Bless!

I've had great luck finding the Mobil 1 V-Twin at a local Wal-Mart.

Amazon.com

I have an Amazon "prime" account. So I get free 2nd day shipping on most items including the oil, without a HazMat fee.

Someone here suggested Autozone to me in the past and the one I went to didn't have it, when I asked why they said that no one had asked before... they ordered a couple of cases for me the next day!
