« on: November 11, 2009, 07:25:25 PM »

Has anybody had a problen with the led tail light on the 07 CVO Springer. Since new it has flickered spuddered and just stoped. Now it just has the plate light on. No running or stop lights, blinkers work.

I haven't had any issues with my 08, but your issue sounds like it is either a faulty circuit board (part of the tail light assembly) or a short circuit in the harness. I'd look for any pinch points or rubbed wires. If you can't see any it is probably the circuit board.

After going through the obvious, checking connections, fusses, pressure switches. I took the light off and put power directly to it. Still only had plate light, no stop or running. So it must be the bulbs.

i have an 07............i am on my 3rd led tri-bar, first was replace inside the first month under warrenty after brake light kept flashing on/off even though the brake was not engaged. second blewup due to water ingres dumb ass dealer didnt seal up the wiring access holes, long story but replaced at my expense while still under 2year warrenty. These things are not repairable and if they malfunction while your are on the road, your up the creek until you get a complete/expensive replacement unit, you cant just get a replacemnt bulb at the next service station.
Hence i keep a bicycle battery powered rear lamp in my tool kit.

I have the same sputtering problem. It's NOT the wiring or connectors. It's a cheap imported unit. I took it apart and found a poor solder joint, but it was so tight to work on, it could not be repaired. New one is $200. (sorry)
