FLTRSE3 suspension
« on: March 10, 2009, 09:06:19 PM »

so what’s everyone doing to the 09 serg suspension? i just installed 12” progressive 440 hd. changed the front fork oil to pj1 20w.

adjusted the rear shocks about 3 full turns down, seems good to me. ;D much better than stock :orange:

the 09’s don’t need too much. imho. plus i live and ride mostly in the low country, a few curves and less elevation changes. i do look forward to trying it out on the twisties in east TN soon.

enjoy

Good tips... the air-assist rears SUCK AZZ.... 50+ psi riding 2 up and it will still bottom on occasion.

How does yours ride 2-up?

I have the Traxxion AK-20 cartridges up front and the stock airs in the rear. I used Progressive 440s on the rear of my last FLH but have not yet decided what to use for the '09 SERG. I am considering a custom set from Works or the Bi-Turbos.

I can reaffirm that nothing beats the AK-20s up front!

I have the Arnott Aldan 12'' chrome air suspension system on my SERG. I can't say that it improved the ride though as it seems to be a bit stiff when I ride solo and there's not much difference with a passenger.

i tried my stock from 10psi to 40psi, not for me, way too stiff, and for 4k miles. :nixweiss: the progressive worked on previous rides so thats where i went.

threw a fat girl on to ride tonite and all is well. :orange:

Is the stock length for the rear shocks 12" or 13" on the 2009 CVO RG?  Would like to replace my HD stock airs (I keep mine at 20 psi) with 440's using the exact factory length. Bike seems low enough to me.

Thank you.

The shocks do bottom ( solo ) on the highway very often ( allthough 35 psi in the rear ones ) I will make more into them .
The front ones with other oil ?
Which oil do you recommend ?
