Hi all,

Advice required please......

I am having my 2007 CVO 110" engine rebuilt and have included R&R Stage V heads and an HPI throttle body as part of the build.

The dealer has almost finished, but has just informed me that my HD Heavy Breather air filter is not compatible. Apparently, it fits the throttle body OK, but not the breather holes on the heads............

Anybody experienced this before?

Any idea as to a solution?

I am managing remotely at the moment, so any clarification would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

Zippers makes a backing plate that is adjustable.

They do not have a picture of it on their web site, so gibe them a call

Col Cop,

Just curious what R&R is saying about this?

Hi there Unbalanced,

R&R have sent me a K&N filter kit which appears to use individual straps to bolt on.

Not as nice as the Heavy Breather though......

it looks like the heads are NOT se castings..... so....

a hour on a milling machine, a couple of sleeves, and some o rings will fix that.

Hi Timo,

They are R&R cast twin cam heads and have larger breather bolts.

I am looking to see how the backplate can be modified - rather than the heads.
That may be a bridge too far over here.....

Many thanks

Zippers # 117-225 has 1/2" breather bolts and adjustable mounts made just for the setup you have.  Because of the variety of combinations it can be used on, you have to drill the backplate mounting holes for the support brackets - no big deal.
