Sorry to let you down Howie...work, it happens...actually it has been a long time to get this far...R/S is "re-tubing" the boiler that supplies steam to out steam turbine electrical generator..

Miker,

As you are into steam boilers are you familiar with the Steam Valve side of the turnarounds and shutdowns? Would you be familiar with the name VELAN, we are the only valve manufacturer in the world that Forge One Piece Bodies Pressure Seal Valves up to 24" and to  ASME Classes 600-2500 and 8" to ASME Class 4500.

Do a lot of work for the US Navy Nuclear Fleets, and any steam generation facilities.

Yup I have Geez...this old girl is just a little 250klb/hr @ 900/900...Hurricane Wima damaged the appearance lagging and she never really dried out and started experiencing external ruptures...NDI showed lots of wall thinning, so away we go.  The STG is a Westy 28MVA...She will need an overhaul next year, vibration is on the creep and it has been 10 years since the last outage and we will be inspecting the stem train side this fall.

I am also the poor schlub who is responsible for water quality...it never ends..just no more hurricanes, the cooling towers have been rebuilt 4 times in the last 10 years...crikey!
