Police Officer Killed in funural
« on: April 30, 2009, 10:07:12 PM »

Police officer killed about a mile away from my house during a funeral. The officer was controlling traffic in the funeral  and had stoped traffic at an intersection and then procedded to the next intersection and ran upon slower traffic and and lost control. It was raining so I'm sure this is what probably caused the accindent. He had all the gear on, helmet , gloves, boots. Died of head injuries. He left behind a wife and 3 children. 48 years old.

This is very sad and sounds like a freak accident.  I don't understand how he could gain enough speed between intersections to be killed.  Especially when he was keeping traffic from speeding up????  He was obviously an experienced rider that must have had a fair amount of experience in the rain.  Prayers for his family.

The accident happened in Martinsville, Indiana on state road 67. The reason his speed was so high is he stoped traffic at one intersection and the next intersection is prpbably 2 miles further down the road. He lived in French Lick IN.

You hate to see anyone lose there live. But for it to be an officer while he was working a funeral..... That sucks! Thoughts and prayers going out to his family! RIP

Thanks.  I am in law enforcement and like to know where a fallen brother has done his last watch.
