Regarding the correction to the "sneeze"... I did ride the bike to work on Friday, about 30 miles round trip with a good portion on the interstate and a bit of in-city driving. I tried to pay attention to it to see if there was a difference and I have to admit that I struggle with that answer. On Friday I didn't experience any noticeable hesitation but even before the download I only noticed it rarely. Let me get a few more miles on it and I'll try to remember to report back.
Regarding the issue with the idle increase... the way it was explained to me was almost identical to what GtreetSlide relays, but differs just a tad...
I was told that the catch here was turning the bike off with the ignition switch (on the tank on mine) before the bike had the chance to idle all the way down. Same as described... the ecu reads the position of the throttle at the time the power is cut and saves it as the base idle point. What I was instructed to do was to turn the bike off with the switch on the handlebars first and then try to give it 10 or so seconds (which is probably too much) before cutting off the ignition. I followed that pretty closely and never had the problem again after I started it doing it that way.
The fix to that issue is what I was originally trying to get put on the bike when this whole mess started. And... as I type this I realize I didn't even clarify whether or not what I got was supposed to address that issue...
