I have a friend, yes I do have one or two..., that went through the DWI schooling and lost his licence for a couple months.  He now will NOT drive after just having one drink.

The scary thing he told me was that in the schooling, the instructor said that the average person that gets caught for drunk driving has driven drunk an average of over 300 times before he got caught.

In my early days, I drank a little, but never drunk.  When I was too intoxicated, my wife drove and I just threw up out the passenger's door.  I was not a good drinker.  As I've grown older, I drink less and less.  I may have a drink every couple years or so, if that.

So back to the 300 time driving before getting caught.  That seems just so high it's impossible to imagine.  But I'm sure there are social drinkers here that have driven when over the 'legal limit', but were they putting anyone in danger, probably not.

I was just thinking that if I were out driving home on a late Saturday night, how many of the cars on the freeway are being driven by legally drunk drivers?

I have no use for people that drink and drive.  That's why I ride mostly alone.  It seem like some of the group just want to go from bar to bar.  One of our group has not had a licence for years and still rides and still drinks to excess.  He dumped his shovelhead not too long ago at a corner and people wanted to call the police just to make sure he was okay and to help.  He ended up just walking away from the scene so he wouldn't get caught again.  His bike was impounded and it was not cheap getting it back.  He's laying low for the summer now...

Sorry for rambling.
