ACR replaced
« on: June 23, 2009, 03:36:59 PM »

:orange:Finally got the rear jug ACR replaced (original is the latest ACR type).  :orange: Wow, what a diff....darn rear ACR had crapped out and starting was horrendous....sounded like the starter and the flywheel were going to get torn apart, plus frequent kickback and smoke out the intake.  Now, just VROOM to life....like it should.  Now, let's see how long this lasts....BTW, it started acting up at around 14000 miles, I have 15,300 now.  FLHTCUSE3

Er...um...what is an ACR?

My 09SERG was doing the same thing on first start of the day and is starting to do it on subsequent starts.

Automatic Compression Release - an electric device that opens a vent so that the engine cranks at a lower compression pressure (easier on the starter).
