I eventually gave up and just turned the mic to a point where it is on all the time and volume is low enough to handle the background noise.  This was on my 2000 Ultra, haven't used it on the SEUC yet.

It seems to be a tough adjustment to avoid the break up issue or miss half of the conversation. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Thanks for the reply. I have done the same with the vox open but the background noise drives me crazy >:(. I have the dealer looking into it. I will post the results. It should work without having it on the open setting. When you get a chance try yours on the SEUC.

I find I have to turn down the sensitivity to about midway on the highway and I can turn it back up to about 3/4 on the street. A bit annoying, but that's the nature of wind.

It wasn't a problem with the J&M headsets on my CUSE. They recommend volume level two or three bars from the top and sensitivity one or two bars below the always on setting.

I felt like I had to say the something loud first to get it to kick in...then I could talk to my wife. It would kick on when I got a little heavy on the throttle. I finally switched it to the thumbswitch...press to talk.

That's funny, I bet she doesn't know that she can change the station either, huh!

BTW, Nikki and I rode about 200 miles today and she did cut out a couple of times. Well not really cutting out like in the middle of a sentence, just missing the first word or two.She said there wasn't a problem from my direction.

I noticed exactly the same thing, and learned to live with it.  Unfortunately, my wife can't grasp the concept, so I miss the first few words of every communication.

I'll try the PTT option - that would be fine with me.  Although, how would that affect simultaneous use of the CB?  It seems that when I'm on the CB and Intercom at the same time, PTT allows talking on CB, and using VOX allows Intercom communication.  If everything is PTT, which of the two takes priority?
