Thanks for the plug, Scott.  There will be more images from Utah and New Mexico up in a few days.  It's a very time consuming process to enter all the data necessary for searching.  I'd offer a discount to members here, but there is no mechanism for me to do that because the sites are driven by other sites.  The Imagekind site is better for stuff to hang on the wall, as you can pick size, matte, frame, glass, and paper type, and get it shipped to your door cheaper than I can do it at home or taking it to a frame shop.  They do a very good job as well...I've ordered a few test things myself and can attest to the quality.

Thanks, Gary!  Most of these photos are scans from slides I've had for several years.  I've got a hi-res film scanner in my home "office", so have scanned about 500 photos to come up with the galleries on the site so far.  I have literally thousands of slides I've taken over the years since I began in about '93 doing "serious" work.

Suzanne and I did take a trip to Sante Fe, New Mexico the first part of March however, so I will have both old and new stuff on the site soon from New Mexico. We got a deal we couldn't refuse, and both needed a "getaway".  Sante Fe is a great place, and there are some great riding roads out there.  The whole time, I wished we had the bike with us, but that was not possible this time.  One of these days thought.... The process of scanning and/or importing the large files into the software program, then entering all the metadata, keywords (for searches), and uploading the files is VERY time consuming, so it's a slow process.  A typical scan from a slide ends up being a 120MB file, then when I upload I have to compress them into a jpeg, but it is still a 15-25mb file, so 2 or 3 hours is not an unusual time frame for uploading to the site, and I have the highest speed cable modem available in this area.  I do appreciate the encouraging words, and hope to get my name out there to earn at least some supplemental income.

Thanks, Charlie....keep in mind if you pull one into your photo editing software that these are 4000DPI Scans of Slides from an older model Nikon Coolscan 4000ED, so they're not as good as the original Fuji Velvia film, but without paying a bunch for drum scans, this is about as good as it gets with what I have to work with.  When I get the NM photos up, some of them will be from RAW shots with my D200, since upgraded to a D300.  18-200 DX VR lens, and just got the new 10-24 DX, but haven't had time to play with it yet.

Printed at A3, they look great though.

The scans turned out really well, better than I would have expected them to.  You've got two really nice lenses there.  The 10-24 will be perfect for your macro shots and for capturing some beautiful landscape/dusk shots.  That one should open up nicely for you.
