Best suggestions for eliminating heat on FLHTCUSE4
« on: June 05, 2009, 09:12:59 AM »

After doing several searches and asking questions to members here about eliminating heat, this is what I am considering:
1. Removing the CC by installing V&H Power Duals
2. Stage 1 Air Cleaner
3. SERT or TTS or PCV
Any criticism or suggestions are greatly appreciated.  This is my first CVO and my wife and I are both love it.  Just want to cool it down.

That should do it, along with a dynotune after break-in.  After the air/fuel ratio is adjusted with the dyno, you should be running cooler.  Remember though, the only way to really avoid the heat from that engine is to not start it, or stand very far away when it's running.

Also, just keep it moving.

Also, reduce the AFR to around 13.7 and this will cool the engine down.

One thing to remember, the 110 is 25% larger than the old 88's and HD runs the new bikes at 14.5 to 14.7 AFR for EPA restrictions.  Makes the bike run very hot.

Also changing fluids will make it run better and cooler.  Get rid of the HD Syn 3 stuff.

Save your money and buy a 96" non cat headpipe (Ebay, HDforum.com) Find a good tuner, And like Tracy said get rid of the Syn 3. (Mobil 1, Amsoil, Redline are all good products to use.  :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks to everyone who replied. 1abastarsmda you are something else.  I tried not starting it, but was too damn hard to push. :huepfenlol2:  Will definitely remove the HD Syn3 and the Dynotune will be done tomorrow.  I really appreciate the feedback. :bananarock:

That's an entirely different thread if you want to know how to push your bike.

Had the install done yesterday.  V&H Power Duals, SERT and kept my stock mufflers.  Dyno'd at 90 HP and 107 Torque.  Runs much cooler and comes off with 2 up very nicely.  That's all I wanted.  Keeping original head pipe to send to Steve for CC removal and then having Jet-Hot coated for later.
