My garage door openor on the SERG is not working.

I can reprogram it and it works.

Works now, an hour from now, two hours from now.

But go out there the next day and it doesn't work.

I reprogram it and it works again.

I'm confused.

The 09 SEUC, the 03 classic, the 05 SEEG and the 01 SERG all work from the same unit on the ceiling and there's no problem with the other 3 bikes.

I just hate taking the SERG fairing off (what a pain), any ideas?

Is there a battery somewhere I can change? (besides in the fairing)

I assuming they are HD version.  There is no battery that I am aware of. Just a power source and the feed from the yellow and white wires from the high/low wires which activates the opener. Unless when the bike is up and running the power source to the unit is being lost???

That happened to me on my last bike, tell the dealer to replace the unit that plugs into the outlet.

It's gonna do that a couple more times then it's gonna quit all together.

Or go to someone else house and see if you can program yours to theirs. Make sense?

Oops I see you have other bikes on it.....sorry

It is the Harley unit.

When I program it, I turn the switch on, program it and done, it works.

24 hours later I turn the switch on again, it doesn't work.

First couple times it happened I checked the other three bikes, they still work fine.

So I don't have a clue.

Jerry?

Axil?

Anyone with a thought?

Well it is a Warranty Claim.

If you know it's the bike unit that should be a simple replacement.

Doesn't make sense unless the transmitter on the SERG is possibly bad.

I know you don't want to take the fairing off, but it would be nice to know if the red light on the transmitter blinks when you operate the dimmer switch.  And also that the wire connections are good.

In the directions I have, it talks about resetting the receiver and all memory is erased, but then you would have to reprogram all the bikes again.  And that may not be the problem.  No diagnosis for the problem you have.

If you don't have the install instructions, to clear memory on the receiver:

Unplug receiver from 100 outlet.

Wait 10 seconds.

PRESSand HOLD program button on the receiver and plug in the 110 outlet at the same time as holding down the button and the red led light will flash rapidly.

Release the program button and the memory is erased.

Then reprogram the receivers/transmitters.

Some one smarter than me will have to help out.

Dick

It is a SERG, but it's a 8 year old SERG.
No warranty there!

 ;)

And Bob, I'm with you.
