Riders come through for abused child...
« on: June 15, 2009, 12:32:18 AM »

In what amounts to a very gruesome and tragic story, a local boy was recently horribly disfigured by his father ("allegedly" my a$$) who, while under the influence of PCP, gouged the childs eyes out.  A ride was quickly put together to raise funds to defray some of his medical expenses.  The ride was today and the turnout was nothing short of astonishing.  About 550 motorcycles participated, many of which came "two-up", which is really huge for this area.  I don't know how much money they raised, but I am proud of the response from riders from all walks of life and riding interests for their participation.  There really are a great bunch of folks out there on two wheels.  Local media did a nice job of covering the event.
My thanks to everyone in every community who takes a little time and spends a little money to help out in situations like these.
