Ignition timing questions.
« on: July 02, 2009, 01:10:33 AM »

Just curious about something I noticed while looking at different maps from both the Dynojet website and here.

Maps for SERG CVO 110's with stock airfilter, cat converter and stock baffles usually advance timing at both low throttle position/low rpm and high throttle position / high rpm. Most maps for fullsac baffles/slipons along with gutted cat converter usually dint add timing and some even retard timing.

When my bike was "stock" with a map that advanced timing the bike pulled harder at high rpm than before the PCV. Stock without the the tune my bike would fall flat after 4000rpm. With the tune it felt like it pulled strong to 4500 and OK to almost 5000.

Now I have gutted the cat, installed 2" fullsacs and downloaded an appropriate map. The Bike defiantly pulls harder than before but once again falls flat at very low rpms, about 4250. I'm thinking that advancing the timing might make it pull longer like it did before. What do you guys think?

I know I need cams too but I'm not ready for that yet.
