ANYONE USE CYCLE SHACK BAFFLES?
« on: July 28, 2009, 11:15:13 AM »

I've been to their site and they make a baffle that looks similar to the OEM in our mufflers.  It only has one crimp divot and should only divert half as much exhaust out into the sound deadening material.

Just curious if anyone has used them.  They are less than half the price of the Fullsac baffles and they "claim" to have the best aftermarket performance of any baffle available.

Any thoughts on these?

Thanks.

Dan,

I have the fullsacs.  Have only heard good things about them.  I can see why the Cycle Shack baffles cost less.  They have fewer baffles which cost more to cut.  The appear to be a hybrid about one half way between stock and fullsac.

1544 PERFORMANCE BAFFLES FOR 4 END CAP MUFFLERS

PERFORMANCE BAFFLES FOR 4" END CAP MUFFLERS:  $57.95
Performance Baffles designed to replace the baffles supplied in the 4" O.D. Screamin' Eagle End Cap Muffler kits. WAKE UP those engines with improved power and sound without the obnoxious crackle of straight pipes. Replacement hardware and Torx bit included in kits. Fits the following Part Nos. 64985-07, 64985-07A, 65259-00, 65467-05, 80463-06 and 80464-06. The O.E. BAffles on these mufflers may be retained with 3 spot welds. In order to remove the O.E. baffles these short spot welds must be removed by grinding, being very careful not to grind through the muffler shell and damaging the chrome finish. May need to order CRT-1, baffle removal tool separately. For off-road use only.

Cycle Shack makes good stuff as does Fullsac, so I would not count them out. A reason they look close to the OE part is Cycle Shack is a supplier to HD, so they may know a thing or two.

Dan, these are identical to the baffles that HD uses in their one piece mufflers, lots of riders add additional holes to increase volume which naturally makes them sound trashy

I have them on my 09 SERG as a true dual setup (not 2-1-2) and they are LOUD. It's not the deep rumble of a Rinehart exhaust but I still like it. My seat-of-the-pants dyno tells me that they SOUND real fast though...
