Anybody try the TTS fix for the SERT?
« on: July 30, 2009, 10:32:18 AM »

Has anyone installed the updated version available from Steve Cole at TTS?

I was told by more than one source that because I have the TBW in an early 08 along with the SERT I would need the upgrade to improve the running condition. I had the RHTD, SE -AC and the SERT installed shortly after my bike purchase. The Dyno was done and it ran like crap, apparently some run well with the same set up and others like mine don't. I lived with it for awhile and finally decided to have a regular HD map installed at no charge. This map has a rev limiter that cuts out earlier than 5,200 rpm's, and if I'm carrying a passenger and we are loaded down it is much worse. I'm so frustrated at just throwing money at it over and over again. I already paid for the SERT and the DYNO why should I have to pay for it again? Every local dealer tells me they can fix it it. Just pay for 4 more hours of Dyno time and they might be able to improve it but they are aware that there is an incompatibility between the early version. Or I can pay for the new Super tuner and more Dyno work. I had a discussion with my service manager yesterday regarding the poor running condition, I told him if he really wanted to make me happy sell me the new super tuner at cost and throw in the Dyno work. Apparently Steve Cole contacted him yesterday and now I'm waiting for the Dyno/Tuning specialist to return from vacation to go over Steve's plan. It would be nice to hear from someone that has had the new SERT upgrade done. There is nothing like getting info from members from this site.
With the current tune I cannot run it hard or even close.

Any advice is welcome

Ray,

I assume you are referring to the TTS upgrade for the original SERT http://www.mastertune.net/SERTUpgrade.html.  The $100 to upgrade is money well spent.  I had the 2009 Screamin' Eagle Pro Tuner, often referred to as the SSERT, which is not compatible with the TTS upgrade so I purchased the TTS separately and I'm glad I did. I find that the TTS has more tuning functions and is easier to use than the SSERT.  TTS also comes with the V-Tune program which can get your VE tables pretty close without a dyno.  I have access to free dyno time so will do my final tune there, but in the interim, I am using the V-Tune software and TTS to adjust my break-in calibration.
