Wow...what a difference REDLINE...Thanks everyone.
« on: July 29, 2009, 12:01:47 PM »

Just a FYI.  Got my bike back from the dealership had all of my fluids changed over to Redline...and huge difference in my bikes temps and shifting.  My bike was running about 10 - 15 degrees cooler and it was hot as hell on the way back.  Couldn't be happier.  Thanks to all for suggesting Redline products and Zippers.   :2vrolijk_21: Zippers was great to deal with and to be honest guys I wish I had just taken the fluids in and had the dealership change out the fluids for me to begin with.  With a 20 month old son running around the home and a wife that is due in September...and working 6 days a week...working on anything is not something I enjoy much.  If I could kick back and drink a beer and have an afternoon to do it and not have to "feel" rushed with so much other stuff going on maybe I would enjoy it.  I used to when I was younger...

The Redline products are what I will use from now on.  But as far as me doing the service work for $100 to have the dealer service the bike...my time is much more valuable than that.  Maybe when I don't have so much going on and I am not trying to rush doing everything and I have a couple of hours that I can spend on working on my bike I will enjoy working on it.  It is kind of like cutting the grass...don't mind doing it and still do sometimes but it is much easier to just pay someone to do it for me.  That way I can enjoy the "free time" that I have doing things that I really enjoy...like riding my Deuce...and spending time with my family.  Not cussing and scratching my bike.   :-[ Thanks for everyone's help in my previous post though I really appreciate it.

Which fluids did you use where. I tried to get my dealer to use redline and he used HD Syn3, said he did not want to buy a pallet of oil. I will buy it for him and have him do the work. I just want to know what you out where.

Thanks

Just put Redline 20W60 in. I thought the valve train sounded a bit quieter. However, I didn't tell my son I changed oil when he took her for a ride. He brought up she seemed quieter. Let you know how it holds up. Thanks for the tip Scott (Sadunbar)

Just call zippers that is who I used...bought 4 qts of the 20w50 oil, qt of trans fluid, and qt of MTL Primary oil.  The fluids cost me $90.00 roughly including shipping but just a fyi my shipping cost were about $10.  The dealer charged me $100 and the filter was aprox $16.00.  I know I could have got it done cheaper but just wanted get it done.
