...  So, we are waiting for some numbers but it looks good for a two-to-one swap.  I'll miss both the Road King and the Springer, but the CVO Ultra has so many bells and whistles....well, I think I will enjoy it either going down the road or just sitting in the driveway.  Thanks to everyone - safe riding!   :2vrolijk_21:

Smart choice. I don't think you'll regret it.

What changes occured in 2007 on the 103's? Are you talking head changes or something different?

From what I understand, and I'm sure others can elaborate more, but the SE103" had the cam plate and Timken bearing. Someone on this site mentioned that the MoCo's philosophy was to mate "natural surfaces" and therefore no need for the plate & bearing. The "newer" 103" is not a Screamin Eagle engine and is basically a bored out 96". Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this to be the case.

I read and re-read your message and the wisdom did make sense.  You can only ride one at a time and you save on insurance, registration, etc.  As it happens, my dealer has a '10 SEUG arriving in two weeks, not promised to anyone.  It is in the Riptide Blue/Titanium Dust scheme.  I took both the arrival date and the color as a positive sign, as both my current bikes are blue (my favorite color) and I picked up both bikes in September (one on the 12th, one on the 13th the following year).

Like Guppytrash said, once you own it, you won't want to ride anything else anyway.

You are never going to look at your 2010 CVO ultra and think "man I wish I would have bought the Ultra limited".  But I gaurantee if you bought the limited everytime you saw a CVO ultra you would be thinking "I wish I had the CVO".

Not to say you will not miss the RK and the Springer...I miss all my old bikes...BUT I LOVE this CVO more than any motorcycle I have owned.

Buy the CVO you have EVERYTHNG in one very cool bike and in the end you will save money.
Not just in the X2 factor that you are already aware of but also in the money you know you would spend over the years trying to make the limited into the CVO.  It is always hard to justify the new price of a CVO, but once you swallow that pill you will always be money ahead.  Just look at all the chrome and paint and add-ons that come with the CVO not on the limited.  The resale will be better on the CVO when that time comes.

I am going to probably get slammed but IMHO the HD sales team that came up with the limited should get an award.  Heated grips, chrome wheels, slightly bigger cylinders and pistons, (correct me if I am wrong but this is not a high performance 103 in any way, not to be confused with SE 103's that came with SE heads and other SE goodies).  Oh yea and I should not forget that custom paint???  That paint, that whole limited Ultra will not be recognizable two years from now in a pile of used Ultra's.  It will blend in nicely with all the other used Ultra's.
The 2 year old CVO ultra will still stand out.

I hope I am giving you good advice Ed.
Enjoy your new CVO
there is no doubt in my mind you will

You are correct - in fact, I was thinking that all the way out to my dealers yesterday...

My mind was made up as soon as I saw the Limited on the showroom floor.  The Black Ice Pearl color is very cool to look at, but pairing it with Vivid Black (gloss black, essentially) makes for a very dark looking color scheme.  Even though the custom paint and extra chrome on the CVO doesn't make it ride any better, it sure does look sweet!
Also, I don't feel too badly about bailing on the Limited, since a couple came in as I was leaving and wanted to buy it.   :huepfenlol2:
