Tallboy seat
« on: August 02, 2009, 01:36:09 AM »

I love the looks of the factory seat on my '08. I just don't like the relationship it has with my backside. Does anyone have experience with this seat on a springer. I like the idea of being back and up as I have long legs. Also, mama needs more padding for a ride over 50 miles. Thanks.

I just bought a corbin touring seat for my 2008 fxstsse. The part number is HD-ST8-CVO-DT. This is the only corbin 2 up seat that the make that fits just this bike .

I have the Tallboy seat and the 3" extended forward controls. I use the tallboy seat for any ride more than 100 miles. Of course one thumb screw and you can swap the seat if you wish. The Tallboy seat is FANTASTIC. This bike is unrideable for touring with the stock seat, but I can't say enough about how much this seat improves the comfort.

Here is my touring set up. I'm no Iron Butt rider, but 350 mile days are very doable.

Dorry,I don't. It's listed in the catalog under the Softalil section and it states the 2008 Springer as one of the bikes it fits.

drogers,

Thanx for the pics. They help alot. I still have one more question. Once you moved your backside where you wanted it, how did it effect your upper body with regards to the handlebars? Did it cause you to lean forward?

Actually,I have Wild 1 510 bars which are wider and more pulled back. I can lean against the T Bag and cruise. However,I have very long arms and reach. With the stock seat or the Tallboy seat, the stock bars are better for me,unless I am touring with the T Bag.

If you are going to put a tall-boy, or any larger seat on this bike, you should get some 3M protective film for the parts of the rear fender that the larger seat will touch. There is already some film there for the stock seat, but you'll need more for a larger seat. I put on the king/queen seat and did this.
