Actually, no one could. The mild breeze created by a plane going that speed at that altitude would have blown both the cameraman and the guy standing there off their feet. A nicely doctored fake I fear.

???  Well folks, I have experienced this first hand working on the flight deck of our aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean and it is an awesome ordeal.  As far as this being an F-18 Hornet it is not, this my friends is an AV8 Harrier which would be from either the European countries  ( Britain ) or from our own US Marines.  Look close at the "tail feather" ( Single ) and has the refueling probe sticking out on the RH side of the front fuselage.  Our F-18 fighters have twin tail feathers and no exposed refueling probes.   All in All this is an awesome experience!  Yet this is not for the meek at heart or no pucker control!   :nervous:

On second look - with freeze frame - it is definitely a Harrier - still WAY cool though.  Not a civilian on the planet that could be in that position.  That would be way cool......
