Hogasm fishing Biloxi
« on: November 24, 2009, 08:47:20 AM »

As some of you know, I love to fish, and fish in many tournaments each year. This year we decided to only fish a few tournaments [4].

We won the Onslow Bay Open http://www.obokmt.us/home/results and finished well enough in the other 2 tournaments in the SKA's division 1 to finish 2nd in the division and qualify to fish in the SKA's National Championship in Biloxi Miss last week.

In Biloxi the fishing was fantastic....so much so that it was a crap shoot as to who could catch a larger fish than your competitors. We managed to run 85 miles offshore to a place called the Salt Domes where the rest of the field was and put our 23' Sea King in 12th place for the tournament.

This is a video of what the fishing was like. Just a reminder at around 4 min into the video...the fish that are jumping are over 30 pounds each

That video reminds me of the one of the fish jumping in the boats. :2vrolijk_21: Never got into fishing that much, but sure enjoyed going for the refreshments :drink: while doing it. ;D

Last year we finished 5th in the same tournament. Only got to fish for 55 minutes and caught 37 fish between the 3 of us.

This year I lost caount at 28 fish in 45 minutes and since it was a little calmer, we were able to fish for 2 hours, so I have no idea of the numbers of 25-35lb fish we caught :nixweiss:
