When I saw this post, I had to check out the website. It was as I suspected. It looks a little different, but it is the same type of compression release they use on a Kohler or Tecumseh small engine.
Guess the patent must've run out on it.

I don't know for sure now.  Tecumseh tech?  We could mount a deck on a center stand bracket and mow while we ride?

Honda and Yamaha have been using various types of cam and kickstart compression releases on their 4 stroke atv's and dual sports for years
Not that it applies here, more of an fyi.
