Straight Pipes on CVO fatbob?
« on: September 29, 2009, 11:39:51 PM »

Has anyone ever run straight pipes on 110 motor? If so i would like to hear some of the dyno numbers. Is it true the bike will have more top end?

 :o :o

If you mean straight pipes with no baffles then not that I'm aware of.

I've run V&H big ovals on a 96 with Race tuner and Stage I and got huge gains.

Straight pipes would be very loud on a 110.

Good luck

I'd not think about that. These engines, like the Evos before, need back pressure. You're right, top end only! It'll be a DOG everywhere else compared to a performance exhaust system. ;)

I removed my baffles from my stock mufflers about 2 months ago and rode around for a day setting off car alarms everywhere i went. Not that it was extremely loud but it had a real low mono pitch tone. It was almost louder at idle and seemed to quiet down while riding. The power was there low/midrange and full but the noise was annoying. Kind of like the kids with the bumpin bass music in their cars. I ended up getting sampson 2" by 12" baffles and welding a 2" piece of exhaust pipe to the end and installing it back into the stock muffler. Sounds great to me.
