Part numbers for 2005 CVO heads
« on: October 15, 2009, 01:09:12 PM »

This is probably already here somewhere, but I haven't found it.

Does anyone have the correct part numbers for the 2005 CVO heads?

16961-03A front
16967-03A rear

These part #'s re for the head, with guides and seats only. No valves, springs, etc.

Thanks, hd-dude.

I didn't think the numbers I was given were right -

Front    16965-03

Rear     16971-03.

Looking for a set of '05 CVO 103 heads to have worked on over the winter. Like to keep the original look.

Don't confuse casting numbers for HD P&A part numbers, they are not the same, the casting is a number used by HD to identify a component of the assembly that makes up the P&A number.

So the seven digit, hypenated number on the casting is not the same as the part number?

No. The numbers I gave you above are the part numbers out of the parts manual.

Just to confuse me more or, perhaps, to clear somethig up, what are the P&A numbers for the stock '04 CVO heads?

The two numbers get confused and the numbers given in the parts books are correct, not casting numbers when purchasing parts over the parts counter. Be sure to use the CVO supplement not the general book.
Guys often use casting numbers on the used market.

Thanks,

I'll try to find a 2005 CVO parts supplement and get the correct numbers for the head assemblys.

Thanks, hd-dude.

I didn't think the numbers I was given were right -

Front    16965-03

Rear     16971-03.

So does anyone know if these are part numbers or casting numbers? Or know anything about these numbers? I found a set that I would like to buy and the owner gave me these same numbers. He didn't know much about the heads except they were stock. The heads say "Screamin Eagle 103" on the side of each head.

I have a set of these here and the numbers cast into the head are
Front    16965-03
Rear     16971-03
These are not the part numbers but the cast numbers
