So I'll ask a silly question - is the AUX port IN only or bi-directional?

Matt, the radio doesn't have an output jack anywhere on board.  Easiest solution would probably be neither a gozinta or a gozouta; but a goesthrougha.  Check like Radio Shack or a car audio shop.  Years ago I remember one of the things we do to our beat up old teen-ager Chevrolets was mount a little inline box that the speaker wires could go in to and out of.  The box had a headphone jack on it.  We'd mount the plug through the dash and could then could cruise main street looking like dufuses (dufii ?) jamming away with headphones on.

With a mini-mic plug the same little box could give you a plug sticking through the inner fairing someplace.

I used to own a car-stereo store MANY years ago and the problem here is common to a lot of high-power, 12 volt amplified systems.  Most older, low power systems - including the older HD head units - use a common speaker ground that provides an easy solution for a headphone jack. A Left positive, Right positive, and a common chassis ground . With the newer higher power units, there is a left & right positive, and a floating ground.  This circuit allows much higher power output with the same voltage & amperage draw, but does not allow for a common "earth ground" that most older systems use.  What Matt is looking for is a headphone wiring solution for the higher power HD head unit that uses the newer floating ground circuit.

At least that is how I understand the question.

This is a great site with a lot of knowledgeable participants. Thanks to everyone.

Sorry Don, but this brought back memories and I just had to look it up [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
You are right with the first plural, but I seem to recall my pals and I using your second version.
