just got new skins on my 07 springer have 26000 miles only get about 7000 till my tire looks very thin. I didn't go to my local dealer who is straight up and very good. Went to the local high pro shop who I have been dealing with for 20 years, they sold me a dunlop sportmax roadsmart tire which they said was a multi compund tire hard in the middle and still soft on sides would wear better and still handle good. has anyone had these on their bike if so what can I expect?

I've had issues with the dunlops myself. On my 08 FXDSE REAR started to cup at 4,800, replaced at 5,000 miles. Replacement has about 8,000 on it, still looks good for maybe 4,000 more. On the 09FHLXTSE4 REAR had to be replaced at 7,500 ( center getting slick and sides starting to cup). They completely reversed the thread pattern for the 10 models, so I know dunlop had some issues. Getting the local dealer or dunlop to talk about it is an issue in itself. :nixweiss:

I asked on another thread but may be better posted here.  What is the difference with the Dunlop 407 vs 408 tire?  Any SERG or SESG owners running "aftermarket" tires and if so what is your general experience?
