 :2vrolijk_21:You know it ain't so bad having a big brother in the Navy!   I want to wish all Marines a Big Happy birthday!  And thanks for being my Big Brother!  I got 2 cousins, 1 former Marine and 1 Annapolis Grad in Flight School!      PS: We know the saying "the Marines are in the Department of the Navy"  "The Mens Department" Semper Fi  to all!  :2vrolijk_21:

Happy belated birthday to you.... LTC.  I thought I saw a thread where you were pinned.  Tun Tavern right on or about 10 NOV.  That is outstanding.  Looks like it's time to change your avatar.

I began my military career on the yellow footprints of Paris Island and even completed PLDC at Quantico (OCS seemed better than Nicaragua at the time), but another course steered me to what I thought would be a more civilian life while still continuing service in the National Guard.  9-11 changed that and I've never really left active duty since my commissioning.  Regardless my service in the USMC has undoubtedly shaped my military career for the better.  I'm extremely proud of my combat leadership in the Army, but I attribute most of my success to lessons burned into me by leathernecks.  Still learning many today from a former drill instructor who happens to be my 1SG.  Semper Fidelis!
