259 e cams
« on: January 13, 2010, 11:56:20 AM »

installing 259 e cams on my 2009 110 fltrse3, setting deck height to zero,.030 head gasket. 96 cc heads(factory)giving  mw  a low crancking compression, thinking of 10.5.1 pistons, is this a good combination to bring up compression.

Mill the heads to get there, they need to be 89cc not hard to do and the flat top pistons with a more compact chamber are desireable. Check piston to valve.

dont want compression too high that i am tearing starter drives out, looking for reliability and dependability for this unit.is there going to be hot starting issues? not happy with performance on the 110 compared to the 103 i built in 2007.

The 6speed bike will have a lot more parasitic losses and the higher gear ratio (2.86 VS 3.15/1) contributes to the feel of sluggishness. The cam has a later close and needs 10.5/1 to work well. The ACRs will work to prevent hot start issues. You will need a good retune.

I have theses cams in my serg. they worked well, but the bike really woke up when i changed pistons. you wont regret the upgrade. i have no starter issues with the higher comp. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Badbagg
Do you have a dyno to show? Did you do any headwork?
