I am having my cat cut now. Will ride with the stock mufflers first. Then will put my wife's CVO mufflers with 1.75" Fullsac baffles on and compare the sound before debaffling my stock mufflers. May be a couple weeks out yet before the test is done.
On a 96", the 1.75" are just right in sound. Put them on my 103 with cams and TD headpipes and were way too loud for me. Will see how it works on the 110 before debaffling my own.
We have a couple people here that have also found that the TD pipes are too loud for their liking. Made the switch back to stock head pipes (pre-'09 style). This was the only change, the Fullsac mufflers and rest of the exhaust system remained the same.
I have found the same on my Evo....I run TD now, and yes, they are a little on the loud side when I gas it, but, it is really a sweet sound once I get out of town.
The sound levels to each of us is very subjective, we have to find our "happy sound" right??
Our 110 motors with stock (de-catted) head pipes, and aftermarket mufflers seem to be the preferred setup right now, not too noisy unless you really gas it!
More are going that route, and adding whatever style muffler they like.
