Great history on your Father's racing career and a well written article. You must be very proud of your Dad. I bet that the article brings back lots of good memories. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the nice comments.  The article was written about 5 years ago, but I had never seen it before yesterday.  I was looking for something else on the internet and ran across it.  My dad is a month shy of 78 now.  When he retired from racing, he got back into boats.  He had a sailboat he kept in Wilmette Harbor on Lake Michigan and a Cruiser he kept on the Mississippi River...  But, he has now sold both of those and is content with nice sports car or two to drive on warm sunny days...  He adapted to retirement from work well, but did not adapt to retirement from his racing and boating activities so well.  The competitive nature he possesses is still alive - he's hell on the grandkids when the video games come out!

Scott, this was a great thing you shared with us all...

I know how you feel about spending time when younger with your dad.  I'm where I am today with motors, cars, bikes etc, because of my dad.

My Dad was a career football coach. Played in college until WW11 broke out. I never really liked football. Sometimes I look back and wonder what he thought about me wanting to rodeo instead of playing football.

Every kid deserves a good Dad!
