They may look good to some, but are gauranteed to lose HP.  It's very interesting to see the dyno numbers drop when you run a base line with stock and then watch it plummet with the hyper-charger.

I have a Screamin Eagle breather kit, K & N air filter, H-D Air Wing air cleaner cover and it works good and I like the looks since I have the Air Wing horn cover to match. Modified both with Skull line timer cover on the horn cover and the air cleaner insert on that. The H-D Air Wing cover has openings front and rear that let more air in, but are angled so your filter doesn't get beat up. HOWEVER if you want a true performance breather go with the Doherty Power PACC which comes with one way breather valves and a built in velocity stack AND, you can fit a stock H-D air cleaner cover over it. The Doherty gives you more upper RPM power. Best big inch motor breather I've heard about is the Ness Big Sucker. The guys I know who have had a Hypercharger all say it's a gimmick but it does look cool (sorta like a blower top) So If that's what you're after go for it, everything I've heard is that it doesn't have a negative effect. There's a thousand different types of covers and breathers out there. Coolest one I've seen is on a bro's bike in Ormand Beach FL. It has a swept forward manifold like the post above with Skull head (270 degree detail) on the front.  In the end make your ride what YOU want it to be.

Isellbulls,

I have not seen a case of the hypercharger doing more good than harm yet.   I would tell you to stick with the Ness Big Sucker, Harley's K&N or the Zippers Air Cleaner.

just my opinion on that subject.   I am still waiting for someone to break down and buy the full Kuryakyn kit and see if they get anywhere close ot the numbers they are saying using the Mike Roland Wild Thing setups.   I just can't bring myself to take a 3500 pot shot at it.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, FXR4INCA,
Welcome to the Site!  I guess I'm "Old School", but I like the 8" Round, w/K&N Filter.  I cut 2 holes on the bottom side, about the same dia. as a quarter.  Later--HUBBARD

I had a hyper charger on my softail for a while...   Then went to the Wimmer.  My tuner found no difference in HP between the SE air cleaner with no cover, and the hyper charger. NO DIFFERENCE   He did find a pretty good rise in HP and Torque on the Wimmer, (probably due to linear flow in the stack), all while on the dyno on the same day.  I can also tell you that there is a measurable difference in the hp produced at speed with the Wimmer due to the ram effect of the air getting forced in.  HOWEVER, you have to tune for THAT air flow, so when your speed changes, so does your tune.
Now....  I turned for it with a carb, (not a big problem), but I want to see someone tune my scoot for best response at 60mph with no ping at 105 with a PCIII....

ps, i'm willing to travel to see the tuner......... [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Welcome FXR4INCA, I was reading over the results that jdk20723 had from his dyno testing of the new Zippers hi flow airfilter.  It's worth a read if your looking for a replacement.
