Pacific Southwest GTG Pre Ride - Palomar Mountain/Julian
« on: November 28, 2009, 11:01:08 AM »

Yesterday was Black Friday so we had to go shopping and ride.  This time we did Screamin_Beagle's Ride with a group from the San Diego area. The weather was great and the ride was even better. The ride started at the Pala Casino and proceeded up one of the top riding roads in the US to Palomar Observatory. From there we went down the back side or Palomar Mountain to Lake Henshaw and on to Julian for lunch and apple pie.

Today we have a freak low and its snowing were we rode yesterday.  ???  Enjoy the pics.  Doc

Looks like a great ride! Jealous already, all bikes are up on lifts in the garage - bummer. Would love to make it out for the S. Cal. get together. Used to live in RB and Carlsbad in the late '80. Always enjoy getting back out there for some Tio Leo's chips and salsa!

Tio Leos - 3 Locations to serve you!

San Diego
5302 Napa Street
San Diego
(619) 542-1462

Del Mar
3510 Valley Centre Dr.
Del Mar
(858) 350-1468

Mission Gorge
6333 Mission Gorge
San Diego
(619) 280-9944

We ate there so frequently when we lived out there that our favorite waitress had us over to her house for dinner before we moved back to Minnesota. Her name was Eliana, last time we were out there (probably 2005) she was the manager at the Del Mar location. We bring a duffle bag of chips and a few quarts of salsa back on the plane with us when we visit, it's that good.

Didn't mean to jack your thread. :jack:
