Emotional PGR Welcome Home Tonight
« on: November 24, 2009, 03:28:04 AM »

I did a Patriot Guard Rider Welcome Home tonight for an Army soldier who lost his left leg to an IED in Iraq.  32 bikes, about a dozen Blue Star Moms, and about 20 family members at the airport to greet him.  What an emotional event and what an amazing man!  Early 20's with a fantastic attitude and outlook after spending 5 months in a military hospital in Texas.  This doesn't even come close to what I'm feeling, but men and women who have sacrificed like he did should be held as heroes and the community should do everything possible to help them in any way possible.  Without these men and women, we wouldn't be living in a free country!

To all of our active duty and to everyone who served in the past, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!

Looks like your doing a hell of a job Ernie. We're all in this together ... whether we acknowledge or not. I've always held the belief it starts with one person at a time.

Not ashamed that I've shed more than a couple tears at PGR missions I've been on.

The welcome homes are fun and upbeat.  It's the funerals that are real tough...

Can't wait to get back to the States, so I can get involved in this again! I did it a few times in California, and it is quite a moving and rewarding experience!

Just gotta figure out how to mount a flag on the SERG...  :confused5:
