Progressive Shocks
« on: January 09, 2006, 10:49:02 PM »

I read most of the thread on the Progressive 440 shocks and was just about to order them today and a custom bike shop owner recommended the Progressive Arial IAS with the compressor adjustment system.

Aside from the high price complaints, has anyone had experience with that shock system?  I am not so much in love with the lowering capabilities as to the firmness adjustment.  Our roads around here look like PGA tee boxes they are so full of potholes. :(  I go on the web page and it looks like they only supply this model for softtails.

jeffj has the Legends Air Ride Suspension on his 06 SEUC, also.  Had an opportunity to see it in person and it was very nice.  Not sure how it rides but sitting still it was nice......especially if you're vertically challenged or have some form of handicap that makes it difficult getting on and off.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Crawdaddy,
If you don't want to spring for the Air Ride, I installed the 11.5" Progressive 440 HD's on my Ultra.  Rides and Handles better than the Lo-Pro MoCo air shocks, and has the lo-slung look, that I like.  Breeze to install.  Hell, I didn't even need OTIS to assist!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Later--HUBBARD

The progressive airtail is not available yet, they keep postponing availability, I was told it would debut in sturgis, no luck, then at sturgis they told me early november, in november they told me maybe february, their appears to be issues and they are not talkin' about it. :-[

If the IAS is like the Progressive airtails for the Softtail, the shock / compressor setup will set you back in the neighborhood of $1100. I didn't care for the ride of the softail version and sold them.

I'm still debating on what to do about th efront forks, so I'll stay with the stockers for now.
