Need More H.P.
« on: January 04, 2006, 06:21:58 PM »

Will a SERT provide additional H.P. without any other modifications?  Do I need to have the Dealer install it or can I use one of the supplied maps and just plug it in without needing to go to a Dyno?

Thanks,
Shotgun

I would suspect the HP gain would be minimal without doing at least intake filter and mufflers. If I remember FR8TNG just put the SERT in his all by himself.

IMHO

It would be best to find a really good tuner
I wouldn't buy a SERT or Power Commander, until you find which one the Tuner would want to use so he can dial the bike in for Optimum Power

You can also go the way of buying the SERT or Power Commander and try and find a good map with your setup.

Couple of questions

1) Have you done the Exhaust or High Flow? Is so what exhaust
2) What is your Budget?
3) Where do you live as lots of members on this site, know Good Tuners all over

Again IMHO if you get your scooter dialed in by a really good tuner, you will be grinning from

Hey shotgun, I have the reinharts with the race tunner and stock air set up, bike dynoed at 97.1hp and 99.1 TQ, I will be changing the air cleanner set up in the spring, waiting to see what will be the best choice. Bike runs great and sounds even better....

posting some new pics for all to see, just don't tell my wife :-/ she thinks it came this way lol

Thanks!  This looks like the way to go!  What size baffles in your Rheiharts?
