Chrome fork wind deflectors....anyone using them ?
« on: May 27, 2012, 06:40:12 AM »

Just curious if anyone has the chrome wind deflectors that mount on the forks or if you can even use them with the convertible fairing.

Hello, I have used them before and they work great but look ugly in my opinion. They will work with the fairing in place.  Just my two cents on the look.  If I were going on a long trip then I would have used them, but I have since upgraded my windshield to the 2012 version as well as adding the sides to the fairing.  That cut down on the buffeting compared to stock but the fork deflectors completely eliminated the buffeting, but I didn't like the look.  Wish  they were a quick connect item.  Hope I was of some help and forgive the rambling.

They do not fit with the lower (black) mini deflectors on the fairing. >:(

I "was" very pleased with the 2012 windshield and lower mini deflectors but now the "new" air flow pattern that comes up the front of your chest is really starting to bug me. I guess it's one of those 1/2 dozen or 6 of another deals.

Correct I forgot go mention they don't fit with the new fairing deflectors.

Maybe next option is a batwing fairing color matched and a 7" headlight

I have a 2011 and use the fork mounted deflectors.  Like many others, I could update to the 2012 fairing deflector, but the fork mounted ones work exceptionally well and I have grown used to how they look.  One day I will make the update, but these work great for now.
