OK, if you're reading the "seat gap" thread you know I'm planning on hanging on to my stock SESG seat in case Harley comes up with a fix. Even though my dealer has offered to swap me for a Sundowner.

I have had Mustang seats on my last 3 Road Kings and been very happy.

Here's the question for those who have tried both: Would you recommend the Mustang (solo + Pillion) or the Sundowner w/ Harley's adjustable backrest? I can only afford one "extra" seat while I'm waiting for a better "stock" SESG seat from Harley.

I'm not really interested in a Corbin. The pillion's a little narrow.

Had 1 Sundowner and 2 Mustang's. Mustang Mustang Mustang Mustang
Mustang Mustang! The last one I put 36k on, and it was still like brand new.
 I could ride 5/6 hundred miles a day, and still have a good azzzz.

 :nixweiss:Don' know about the Mustang, but have a Sundowner for the Deuce.....personally? I like the stock seat over the Sundowner. Sundowner just looks "odd" sort of, on this Deuce,better for a passenger/larger pad area...wife(gone now!) liked the Sundowner better, bout 100 mls. on the stock seat an she was done!

ditto, Tried a sundowner on an 04 RK it looked terrible and rode worse, The Mustang I replaced it with was great unless they have improved them since, I would opt for the Mustang.

If I were making the choice I would definitely go with the Mustang and depending on what you are after they have a new wider seat being delivered for touring that they had at the Vtwin Show.  They are suppsoed to have them at Daytona Bikeweek.   I have both the problem with the sundowners is now with 25k+ miles the foam is shot and I need to replace the seat.  The Mustang has 70k + miles and is as good as day 1 in comfort.

Just ordered my Mustang seat.   My 4th all in all.

Have a buddy that swears by Sundowner and now suddenly, it is hurting his butt on a short ride.  So I will lend him my new Mustang and see if I can convert him.

I have seldom heard a bad thing said about Mustang seats...

Thanks to everyone. I've had 3 Mustangs before and all on Road Kings, but wanted informed opinions on the Sundowner. Just ordered a Mustang solo w/driver's backrest and matching pillion. Should be here early next week. Now if would only quit snowing!
