help with dyno information
« on: December 20, 2009, 02:16:41 PM »

As a gift I had a SERT installed on my 10' SE street glide.  A basic map was loaded but of courseit is only there so I could ride it a bit.  It hesitates at freeway speed and loads up a bit at others. I want to get it dyno'd. As I live in so cal, does anyone have any good contacts and or have an idea what it would cost to dyno it in? No other engine mods or anything like that to deal with and I dont plan on doing any other.  Thanks,

BB

Not quite Southern Ca - actually Hayward, Ca....

But you can't do better than this guy!!  A good friend from way back - and an outstanding tuner.   :2vrolijk_21:

If it's stock there shouldn't be any problems loading a map off the SERT for stage 1.  I can assist you in basic adjustments to the stage 1 map that will make even a stock bike run better.  PM me if you want.

Bbowler, I recommend Bennett's Performance in Signal Hill (Long Beach) 562-498-1819. He did the warranty repair on the S&S 107 I have in my 95 Heritage. He has a clean organized shop with a dyno. They don't talk your ear off trying to get you to buy things you don't need. They are a down to earth shop. If I needed any performance done to my 09 SEUC I would take it there also. CAHDBIKER

Interesting that you should mention it.  This is were most of the Nor Cal members bikes get dyno tuned and several from So Cal come up to get it done here.  Read on another forum yesterday.....a guy in So Cal is coming up today for a dyno tune.

Question for the experts.....If a dyno tune is done at sea level will there be a difference when the bike is run at 4500' ?  Will the onboard efi compensate?

The speed density systems (what this is) are very good at adjusting for altitude.

Well just to let everyone know, I just got the bike back from the dyno and WOW!!!   I went to a place called Kiwi Indian performance in riverside, ca and unlike some i talked to he put my mind at ease and was very upfront and more than willing to show and explain all he does and what happened each run during the tune. Best of all is he did it for 240.00 which to me is a bargain given how cool he was and on top he was. Bike is stock ecept for breather and pipes, no cat in header but still pulled out 114 ftlbs torq and 98 rwhp   some have better I know but in this config its fine with me.  Just givin a heads up. Thanks all.

Was an appointment necessary or long time to wait for an appointment?  How long to do the work?

short notice was okay for me and he was nothing but great. In my experience he was in no way trying to do anything or sell anything that i didn't need.
