DFO vs. PCIII or SERT
« on: January 11, 2006, 09:34:26 PM »

Since I already have the Revtech DFO installed on my 2004 SEEG and everything seems to run fine (not dyno tuned yet), can anyone tell me if there are any performance benefits to going with a PCIII or SERT?

Pete,

There very well could be.   some examples might be the PC allows you to add a fuel pump and adjust timing to front and rear cylinders at the same time.

The Race Tuner allows you to add fuel accel pump and a decell fuel take away to remove decell popping as well as timing on both cylinders and works not only off fuel tables, but volumetric efficiencies of each cylinder independently.   The DFO does only a small amount of adjustment and normally with a race tuner / Power Commander you can adjust the fuel such that you will see larger gains across the board vs. just some rideability adjustment.

Pete......I might suggest a search on this subject.  This has been discucced at length on several threads on this site.

If you need help locating them, send me a PM and I'll see if I can locate them for you.

By the way, welcome to the board! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

The only thing I don't like about the Power Commander is you can't adjust the Rev limiter.

Hotline,

That is why it is suggested on here for 2 reasons to at least get a stage1 Harley Download.

1.   to Raise the Rev Limiter to 6200 ... honestly though there are very few motors on this site even still making power beyond 6000 ... I would say its more for the whoops ohh chit I missed the shift times.

2.   If the power commander Chits the bed you have a way to get the bike home without doing dmg to it for it running way to lean.

Its been said in the next generation PowerCommander they are going to be able to set the rev limiter, it is yet to be seen.
