SERT file conversion
« on: January 02, 2010, 05:01:01 PM »

I've got an old MT6 SERT file that another member would like to use.  His new Race Tuner software won't handle the old file though.  Anyone know of a conversion utility to make the transition easy for the gentleman?

I'll look tomorrow later this morning when I get to work and fire up the laptop.

I thought the new SERT would read old files. To use the older file I have just opened up two SERT windows and did a cut & paste for all the tables.
Here is the notice if you open an old file.

I get that when using later software and my old file also.  That's with later SERT software.  The gent asking about this is apparently seeing something different though and still having some difficulty.

I'm wondering if perhaps he has the even newer "Super SERT" and it is yet more different.  From my message exchanges with the guy trying to do this just thought a conversion utility (if such existed) might be his easiest way to go.

Ask your friend if his bike interface has a little red button on it. If it does he has a SESPT not a SERT. There is no conversion for it then.

He's a site member Steve.  Just a quieter member.  Sent him a link to your post so it should be helpful.

What I have is the SERT 32107-01G dated 07/06/07. When I click program ECM, and then the get ECM INFO we get
VIN #,ECM PIN # and CAL ID like the program says.  The next step is to click  Program CAL and that is when the error code says contact H-D the file is not compatable with the ECM. any ideas would help. The Tuner is not the newer one with the button if this helps.

Just in case that .mt6 file I sent you got corrupted in some way it's worth trying again.  PM your email address once more and I'll send it.  May or may not work.  But it's too easy not to try.

First things first. What year and model are we working with here? It sounds like something is no liking what it see's and it may not be the file yoour trying to use. If you need help just ask here or give us a call and we can try to walk you through it all.

What I have is a 04 SEEG the map I am trying to load is for a 05 SEEG. The SERT that I have is a 32107-01G and the map I am trying to load is a MT6 version. The programing will read get ECM info for the vin#. Next is program ECM Cal and I get a error code Programing file is incorrect for ECM. Any ideas whats going on if I try it several times I will get Verify you have loaded the correct calibration file for this ECM If problem persists contact your Harley Davidson Dealer for further information.

Waht is the ECM part number from your bike and the complete file part number your trying to load? The bikes use different files based on ECM part number, model year. The .MT6 doesn't give the necessary information needed. 2004 and 2005 use different ECM's from the factory but the replace ECM is the same for both. This requires different tuning files to be put in them.

Steve, the map he's trying to load isn't a cartridge.  So no part number.  It's a file created during a dyno tune.

They all started life with a part number. If you look under the "EDIT" menu with the file loaded go to "Edit Calibration Part Number" and it will show you the part number. What I'm looking for is the original part number so I can try and see what's going on for him.
