Just looked at your manufacturer's website and all the documented accessories are wireless for your unit. No mention in any docs of a wired control point. If that ends up being accurate you won't be able to use the new kit you bought.
Until proved otherwise that seems an unlikely alternative. Wired control points have existed on any GDO I've ever seen (documented or not).
Look on your motor unit. You mentioned some number of small screws. See how they're marked watching for any clue as to a pair that would do something if shorted together. Worth a call to the mftr during business hours.
While I'd not recommend this to anyone else if I were farting with it on a Sunday I'd also just take a pair of needle nose pliers and quickly short across pairs of those small screws looking for a pair that engaged the motor. When it engages you've found where the two wires go.
Twolanerider, you crack me up. I can imagine myself in the garage all pissed off about the situation on a ladder and getting a little poke and falling off the ladder and well...Maybe have a few beers and see what happens. If nothing happens, well you had a few beers.
Just remember, I went through this about 10 months ago. I finally figured out that my unit had a bad post where the two wires go into the receiver. I picked up a new receiver from a member and BOOM! It worked. But I too tried to wire this thing up 7 ways from Sunday and NOTHING. I can understand you frustrations.
