I don't mess with this stuff because I'd probably just turn one of these things into a large crater, but I think they are cool as hell.

I took a shot of this DC3 hanging from the ceiling of a Cleveland area Dealer.

The only thing different from men and boyz is the price of their toyz. :2vrolijk_21: I remember when I had one just like that when I was a boy  --  well maybe not EXACTLY like that one. Come to think of it mine was a lot smaller and had a 15 foot cable attached to the plane. Oh yeah it was'nt remote controlled either. Oh yeah it did'nt have a jet engine either.

First RC "jet" I flew was a Sabre - with a prop engine on the front.

Graduated to another "jet" with a "pusher prop"

Started building a "ducted fan" jet (nothing more then a pusher prop inside a pipe) then decide to crash helicopters for awhile.

The new jets (real jet engines) are amazing and what these folks do with them is some talent.

 :orange:
when we were younger my brother and i had the tether line planes.  Fun to fly but got dizzy from turning circles.  In the past 4 years i have built A Chip Hyde Cap X Acrobat plane and a F4U corsair and a Clippedwing Taylor Craft.  Going to make the Clipped Wing into a float plane for our lake house so when i need a geese chaser or a duck hunter i have something to play with.  Though about using it for a trolling plane but we got some large Tiger mouth 4-5 feet long and it would look kinda funny gettin one of those hooked.

But flying these remote control planes are fun and relaxing until you crash and burn one!  Been there also!   :orange:

Nice video.  If you fly RC's, you will crash. The question is when?

Ever see the R/C Wars Striking Back show?

Was out in Ohio I think in the mid 80's. Scale aircraft, boats, ships, tanks etc recreating a battle (south pacific I think).

Very cool using just models.

If you are an RC fan look on eBay for the video, it is pretty cool and 30 minutes long.

Nice video.  If you fly RC's, you will crash. The question is when?

And that's when it starts getting real EXPENSIVE. Replacing that B-52 has gotta be costly.
I doubt you can insure them. I would prefer to stick with the RC Tanks like the Tiger !.

I know it's not as exciting as seeing something fly, but at least those stay on the ground and can't crash.
