MY 2009 CVO Loading up @ 52,000 miles
« on: January 14, 2010, 05:47:55 PM »

I just put 52,125 miles on my scooter in 12 months, with all of the major problems I have had after 40,000 miles I am on the only thing here screaming....It appears to stall, hesitate or something....It was running really lean and when the cams and oil pump went out from having large score marks into the metal they were replaced with stock ones....Since this the stealership told me it did not need to be dyno again....Since this time it is like loading up and the plugs were terrible....Stealership could not find anything wrong as usuall (mechanic could not duplicate) and when I went to pick it up I had the service manager come out and she said she could tell it immediately...

I was told that I would have to have my scooter dyno again.....that this is what happens from wear....Never knew that every year I would have to spend another $395.00 to have this done....I thought that once it was done it was forever unless you made any new modifications on the scooter....Please explain I do not know anything about motors or electronics....thanks so much nudels

As the motor wears, and parts start getting loose, the state of tune and requirements of the engine are going to change.   I don't think a "Re-tune" of the system would be a bad idea.   But that's just me.

Put 30k in 9 months on my '09, did a v-tune once, never had anything done since! No issues at all running. No oil usage, no noise, just like a car, just kept running.
I think I would look for another dealer. These motors are usually good for 100k.
Even my 1995 ran fine at 100k without even a valve job!

Find someone else to look at the bike. Getting a second opinion before you have surgery is always a good idea. Always try and find out about the DR ( hospital, department )too, I work in the med field- seen lots of FUs.
I like my local dealer, but after seeing/finding sh*t they missed three times, I told myself I am Out of there for service.
Fortunately I found an Indy who knows his stuff, has been at it for 40 years and is less per hour. And btw, he used to work for that same stealer. Had enuf of low pay and left, just like every other good wrench that stealer ever had. Can you tell I am a bit miffed here? I feel your stealer pain friend. Just because you have a newer bike, does not mean that, an old dog can't show you the stuff the young pups at the dealer are missing! Just my opinion - the hard way.

Good luck and ride safe. I admire the miles you are racking up!

Have you ever replaced the fuel filter?
