This was a basement fire in a row house.
There is already a crew that has taken a hoseline in the front door (you can see it on the ground) all the way to the rear to the kitchen. They are searching for the interior basement stairs.
There is also a crew with a hoseline accessing the rear exterior stairwell to the basement
This video shows what a real "backdraft" or "smoke explosion" looks like. Probably more dramatic then what you see in the movies. That is the chief officer in the white coat directing operations right in the middle of the video. There is no special effects here
Basement fires are among the scariest and most dangerous of fires we encounter in residential fires, as you have to "go down the chimney" (stairwell) to get to the basement.
"Five firefighters were hurt in the flashover One remains hospitalized in stable condition. Two other were hurt during overhaul. Four more firefighters with less serious injuries were taken to other hospitals and are also in stable condition" (there is some discussion as to whether this was a flashover or smoke explosion 2 different animals to us).
There was an equal blowout out the rear of the structure
