Get the bike that you want, its your hard earned money.

BTW, I have an ultra and would not trade it for a street glide. But I would love to have a street glide as my second bike.

Thanks to a hard working out of town dealer, a helpful board member (RagTop) and an understanding local dealer, I will take delivery of the much sought after amber/citrus SEUC next week. Mike’s Famous got the job done and the local dealer will be doing the mods. Everyone is happy and I couldn‘t me more proud and pleased to have such a beautiful machine. Will keep you all posted as the Stage I is finalized. Now, if we could get a little help from the weather man!
Congrats!!! I think you'll be much happier in the long run getting the bike you really wanted. :2vrolijk_21:

You bought the right bike, you can always remove tourpacks, it costs a fortune to add them and the audio.  Can't wait to see it.;

Yup, I'd be straight up with them, and pretty much tell them what you just posted- If it were me, the convo would go something like this :

 "Look, I really have my heart set on the SEUC like the one that dealer B has, but I really want to buy one from you guys, since you've been so good to me over the years... is there any way you guys can get me one? If not, what do you think I should do?"

I'm sure they'd appreciate and respect your forthrightness, and give you an honest answer- then, if you end up buying from dealer B and get it serviced at your dealer, at least they will know that you didn't buy it from someone else behind their back sort of thing, and hopefully won't spit in your gas tank.... ;D

Ed,

I bought a 2010 Spiced Rum SESG last August and loved it!  It was my first HD purchase and I was blown away by the paint and the performance.  Unfortunately I crashed the SG in November and it was totalled.  Got insurance to settle and started looking for my replacement.  Lo and behold my dealer just happened to have another Spiced Rum SESG on the floor when I was able to visit.  Although I wasn't worried about the "bad mojo" all my buds were giving me about buying the same bike, I saw a 2010 SEUC (riptide blue/titanium) on the floor that day too.  After really thinking about it (and not consulting anybody), I knew that the SEUC was what I really wanted.  The SG was great, powerful, and exciting to ride, but the comfort and convenience the UC gives me really fits my way of riding.  I'll always have good memories of my Captain Morgan, and maybe will have one in the garage one day as my second!

No regrets!
