Road Glider's new ride
« on: March 13, 2010, 11:38:59 PM »

Today I said adiós to my yellow Road Glide and brought home to the garage a new 2010 Blue/Black Ultra Limited. I have been wanting to up date my ride to enjoy the recent improvements to the touring bikes (frame back tire, etc.) and was hoping that the MOCO would build an Ultra Road Glide (a RG with all the ultra equipment) since that is what I end up putting on my bikes. After getting left at the alter by the moco as each new model line was announced these last few years I had to come up with a different plan if I wanted a new ride. When I first saw the new mid year release of the blacked out CVO Ultra I figured that would be it for me and I got on the list for that bike. After having some more time to think on things and looking at the various options I was drawn to the conclusion I could either spend the almost $40k for the blacked out bike or build another stock RG up or just get an Ultra and add even less parts to it. Once I had started thinking about getting the blacked out CVO ultra that had me considering an ultra and once down that road ended up focusing on the new ultra limited bike because it comes with the equipment I want at a substantial cost savings between it and the CVO bike. So I just went ahead and did it. Added lots of chrome and parts that I liked off of the CVO Ultra from the parts book and here she is.

Not all the parts are in and installed yet. Still to come in are the rider back rest to match the seat, painted inner fairing, replacement wind screen (went with the 9.5" dark tinted recurve shield from clearview, mirrors (went with the same ones on the cvo ultra), and chrome trim piece for under windshield same as on the cvo bike. So without those items here she is.

Although not a CVO, I think she is simply stunning looking. Only 90 miles on it today. More to come. Hope I enjoy the ride. It is different than the RG and I will give this bike plenty of time so I can gel with it.

Wow, what a great looking bike. I got to tell you that I looked long and hard at the Limited. It's the best buy in Ultras for 2010. I was not able to find that color you have so I ended up ordering the one I have. You made a great pick. Now let the fun began and make it yours. Good luck, and great pic's on the water.
