As I watched the ship arriving to port I was reminded of my need to plan my departure

My first trip of the season was filled with so much…rain, thunderstorms, floods, lost cell phone, broken radio, truck break-in, forgotten gear, good friends, great times, fond memories, long lost class mates, new experiences!  Can’t wait until the next one less a couple of the above conditions!

I grew up in western Mass (Pittsfield) and my best friend's family had a cottage (house without insulation) on the Cape...right on the beach...what fun memories!  That being said, "P-town" was very progressive (San Fransiscan) even back in the mid-late 60s.  I remember one night in P-town during the hight of summer I saw my first "Queen" dressed up like a Las Vegas Show Girl prancing & dancing down the busy street.  For a 10-year old it was quite a sight indeed!  It was my first realization that there were other people out there that were different than women & men.  I can't remember his mother's response to our questions but it must have been moments that every parent dreads!

My brother and I had a conversation just the other day while changing his back tire in my garage about how strange it is that we've turned out as conservative as we are considering where we grew up. 

Him doing 20 years in the Air Force and me doing 30 might have something to do with it...maybe...naaaah

Now you know were I get mine...in an effort for full disclosure, I have a friend that has enjoyed the area a number of times and he does most of the work.  I just enjoy the trip!
