How many are happy with stock performance?  Is the heat in the 2010s really that bad?  I am financially wiped out after this purchase and probably won't be able to do exhaust/Power Commander until next year.  Will I be happy with this bike "as is"?  My 08 Road King was fine with just the Cobra fi2000 fuel adder.  Does the 110" with the cat add a lot of heat on top of that?

I may be the oddball here, but I'm happy with my SESG the way it is performance wise.Figured I'd do the fulsac baffels, but starting to like the sound of the stock mufflers.Seems like they're sounding better after 4,000 miles.Know the guy I've been riding with likes the sound a lot better than the slipons I had on my '04.Only been in the mid 60s here in Las Vegas so heat hasn't been a problem yet.Looks like that Nightrider plug & play module might be a good idea.

I'm changing out the exhaust and tuning my bike. I hadn't ridden a Harley since I used to steal my father's Electraglide. This bike is so far beyond what his 80" EVO could do!!!

I need to get on a 96" to see how much difference there is this spring.

ScreaminStreetGlide, I was happy with the stock performance of my 09SEUC until I got a tank of non california gas. At that point it started to ping under most conditions hot, cold, under a load whatever.(this happened in Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming) That lasted for about 3000 miles until I got back to CA. and filled my tank in Oakhurst when it was about 105 degrees outside and the pinging diminshed immediately.  When I got home I put the stage 1 fulsac kit on it. Haven't been out of state since, but no matter what I do locally it doesn't ping. I guess I will find out when I ride up to Canada this summer. Good Luck with your bike. By the way even when it was pinging the performance was very impressive. I am talking about going from 6th gear at 85mph, down to 5th, and up to almost 100 with passenger and luggage in a snap. Got to pass those Ford Tritons who seem to think it is okay to pull a 30 foot trailer at 85mph on a two lane road when the speed limit is only 65. I am not saying I should have gone 100 mph with a passenger and luggage, but sometimes you can only take so much. Besides that they spoil the scenery. CAHDBIKER

Thanks for all the replies.  I am going to be borrow and steal the money and do it right.  Vance & Hines true duals (will get them ceramic coated by proplating.com), monster round slipons and TTS Mastertune and get it dyno tuned at Horsepower Inc.  Just to beat someone to the punch, I know true duals aren't the best for power, but I like the look and know they can't do anything but help with the heat.

THE HEAT ON MY 08 WAS BRUTAL WHEN NEW...........I CHANGED TO TRUE DUALS THE NEXT WEEK WITH THE STOCK MUFFLERS BUT TOOK THE CATS OUT OF THE MUFFLERS (08 CATS WERE IN THE FRONT OF THE MUFFLER)..............I WRAPPED THE PIPES BEFORE INSTALLING AND THEY MADE A NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE IN THE HEAT OUTPUT, THE ENGINE WOKE UP TOO AND PICKED UP 9 HP AND 14 FT LB OF TORQUE............THE ONLY THING THAT DID NOT WORK WAS THE LEFT PIPE HITTING THE INSIDE OF MY THIGH .............I FINALLY BIT THE BULLET AND PUT V&H POWER DUALS ON (YES THE DO FIT AN 08 BUT NOT EASILY)...........ADDED A K&N AIR CLEANER ASSY AND A MASTER TUNER AND THE HEAT ISSUE IS A THING OF THE PAST...........WITH THE UNDER-CROSS OVER I CANT FEEL ANY HEAT AT ALL AND THE MOTOR RUNS MUCH COOLER NOW...........I HAVENT HAD IT ON THE DYNO BUT MY SEAT OF THE PANTS DYNO SAYS 5-7 HP NORE THAN BEFORE..............YOU CAN NOW FEEL THE ENGINE PULLING INTO THE UPPER RPM RANGE WITH AUTHORITY RATHER THAN BEFORE WERE IT FELT FLAT OVER 3500.

PS. THE ENGINE/TUNER TECH AT MY DEALER SAID THE CVO MUFFLERS WILL MAKE UP TO 100 HP ON A 110 CVO ULTRA

My opinion is, if you're not happy with the bike when you purchased it, then maybe you purchased the wrong bike.  Sure we all want to add our "personal touches" to make the bike our own, but we can do that with just about any bike.  If the performance and such suck that bad, then it's the wrong purchase. Most of us bought the CVO's because of their extraordinary performance and styling, but yet as soon as we sign the purchase papers, we're already planning on doing performance work...many times BEFORE we even get the bike HOME!  To each his own I guess...

Extraordinary performance?
I guess when the bar is set low enough a stock 110 is a great motor.

I would consider the 110 "extraordinary" compared to the "stock" 96.  Cams, pistons, heads, etc.  To me that fits the definition of extraordinary...

I've got to say that I think most informed HD riders (and that surely includes the members of this forum) accept the need to at least modify the AFR on any new Harley. Since many CVOs come with a high-flow air cleaner, a SERT, Power Commander, TTS, etc and a slip-on or baffle change are all that's needed to "wake up" the motor. It is an air/fuel pump after all.

Yes, with a dyno tune it's not exactly cheap, but most concur it's well worth the effort. I'm totally happy with 2.0" Fullsac baffles and a dyno tune on my SESG. Don't feel the need for cams, more compression, bigger throttle bodies, etc. But, to each his own.

I didn't "purchase the wrong bike", I knew exactly what I was getting into. And, so did almost everyone on this forum I suspect.
